The International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies is a global organization established through cooperation of national and regional societies and organizations in the specialty of head and neck surgery and oncology. This international body has membership from 31 national and regional multidisciplinary organizations. The purpose of the Federation is to provide a common platform for specialists involved in the field of head and neck cancer to interact in professional matters of mutual interest. The Federation conducts quadrennial global congresses with participation of multidisciplinary specialists in the field of head and neck cancer. The Federation has significantly enhanced the international camaraderie, friendship and collegiality amongst specialists from various parts of the world in the specialty of head and neck oncology.

In addition to promulgating professional education, the Federation encourages international collaboration for projects of mutual interest through international collaborative research studies. It also sponsors local, regional and national meetings for continuing medical education in the field of head and neck cancer. The quadrennial congresses of the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies (IFHNOS), have become one of the most important and significant multidisciplinary conferences in the specialty of head and neck cancer.
