by RP Morton on 13 June 2010

The AHNS and The Research and Education Foundation of the AHNS would like to congratulate Eric J. Moore, MD on receiving the 2010 Chris O'Brien Traveling Fellowship Award. From a pool of talented applicants, Dr. Moore was selected to represent the award and partake in the fellowship exchange. In addition to attending the ANZHNS meeting in Sydney, Australia, September 2 – 4, 2010, Dr. Moore will also present an oral paper. Dr. Moore is currently the Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. The Chris O'Brien Traveling Scholarship is awarded every two years alternating between Australia/New Zealand and North America. The purpose of this fellowship is to encourage international exchange of information concerning surgical science, practice, and education and to establish professional and academic collaborations and friendships. The Research and Education Foundation of the AHNS would like to thank everyone who so generously donated to the Chris O'Brien Fund at the recent Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. There was a wonderful outpouring of support and we are grateful for the donations, which help in funding a lecture in memory of Dr. O'Brien at the International Conference on Head and Neck Cancer held every four years and, additionally, the Chris O’Brien Traveling Scholar Award. If you weren't able to contribute at the meeting, you may do so online through the AHNS website. All donations of $200 or more will receive the Chris O'Brien Fund logo pin demonstrating the partnership between the AHNS and the Australia/New Zealand Head and Neck Society.
